I went into Hot topic in the louis joliet mall over easter weekend and this is what i thought.....
1-existing perception of store- I have always thought the store was a store that attracted weird people and it never intrested me, it has very loud music and dark clothing.
2-Note ambience of store-The store was very dark, and scary. It had dark clothing everwhere and had very loud heavy metal music playing. The store had no carpet and brick walls which gave it a very cold feeling, however the workers were very nice i didnt get a very welcoming vibe from it.
3-The employees were very friendly and greeted me as i enterd the store and let me know if there was anything i needed they would be glad to assist me. But other than that they were busy stocking the shelves and helping other customers.
4-Products on sale- There were not really any sales or products on sale in there, they did have a clearence rack with marked down clothes that seemes to be almost half the price, but some clothes had marks or holes in them, and seemed to be picked over.
5-Re-evaluate-After visiting a store i would never had went into before i have a whole new look on it. Although it isny my style the people working there seemes very nice and willing to help knowing it wasnt my type of store. It was very dark and crepy but they did have some cool things that made my visit interesting!!

Frontline movie
"The Persuaders" program explores the idea that Americans are seeking and finding a sort of identity in buying/joining a brand. What is this about? It is more than what it looks like Is there a story behind it? That draws someone towards it because of it's meaning not its appearence.
What are the common elements in the persuasion/selling strategies of advertising and marketing? Viewing in on the right audience,at the right time. Persuading americans to make the right choics.
Where are we headed? What are your thoughts on how far the techniques of persuasion might go? About the surprising future of advertisers and what they will take on. Seeing if there will be new ways to grab americansa attention!

binge drinking
Through the week i have seen many groups presentations about binge drinking what we did was got a megaphone speaker and let people know loud and clear about binge drinking we interviewed people and got their opinion on binge drinking!!I think it was effective because many people stoped and listened and gave there inputs. The other groups did things like put caution tape up by faner and had beer cans all around them and pretended to be drunk and passed out. I thought this was a good idea and they couldnt have done it better it was effective because people stoped and gave their thoughts as well, another group did a mock tailgate and were stumbling around pretending to do beer bongs and being really loud and annoying this worked great also. And the other group i saw was giving out free hugs and told people to not binge drink and sware to it, this was a good idea but i dont think it is going to really be effectice! This projects was very intresting and i heard people talking about it and it was even in the d.e.
